Glitch City

Glitched City is a bug in the games Red, Blue, Yellow and now Diamond and Pearl.
English: Glitch City
Japanese: Accidental City
- Go to the Safari and walk 150 steps. (To prevent continous surfing later on)
- When the trainer is asked if He/She is leaving early, answer no.
- In the Safari, save the game, turn it off and turn it back on again.
- The man will ask the player if he would like to join a Safari Game. Say no.
- Fly anywhere (for the Glitch City that is easiest to walk around in, fly to Cinnabar Island's east coast)
- Walk for 500 steps, and then "Ding-dong!" will appear, like in a normal Safari game
- Leave the Safari Building and the player will be in Glitch City
Using this trick will put you in Glitch City, where if you press START sometimes all the tiles will become water. The soundtrack to the area is taken from the place you last were, and so are some of the Pokemon species. This glitch can also result in finding Missingno, or 'M'. Cave entrances will freeze the game, trees will remain even after being cut, signs become blank and doors locked completely. Glitches can be interesting and rather fun, but some people think Glitch City is the reason the Safari was removed from Gold/Silver and Crystal. You cannot save in a safari in LG/FR so don't bother and find another glitch to mess with.
Already hunting for ????? but want Glitch City too? If you have G/S/C and a GameShark, when defeating or capturing ????? you will find yourself in "GSC Glitch City".
Be careful when you surf. Go too far and you may find yourself out of the game map. Possible in Diamond/Pearl with Walk-Through-Walls hack though, just don't try to save when out of the game area. In D/P you will become locked in the Mystery Zone when you get out of your gaming map. The music will also change when you are in the Mystery Zone. (If a ! appears above your trainers head, shut the game down fast before it overloads or freezes.)
How to get to Glitch City in D/P:
Coming soon.
How to glitch areas in D/P:
Get on your bike and cycle on fastest gear. Ride around in crazed circles, pressing the left and right keys rapidly while moving backwards and forwards. You should suddenly stop, and hear a bumping sound like when you walk into a wall. That's exactly what you've done. There is now invisible glitch walls everywhere, like a Mr. Mime went a bit crazy with Light Screen. Cycle around more and bump into more stuff and er...invisible walls, then leave the area you started the glitch in and cycle away. Head back again and it should have been replaced by black, the Mystery Zone. For those who like the more unordinary ways of gaining Pokemon, you can use the black patch to get to Darkrai. But if you want to use it for that reason, try and glitch in Canalave. Or, do it in Veilstone, then use the walk-through-walls hack. Make sure you have the hack already active. Cycle through Team Galactics HQ and the Pokemon Centre, while still using walk-through-walls in order to move inside the building without using a door. Rather like a ghost really. Go out again, then if you're still not stuck with a frozen screen, get off your bike. It's rather random, but you may end up spiraling into the air, turning into a block of static like Missingno or getting stuck in Foggy Glitch City.
Remember, by glitching you are putting your game at risk. Buy a spare to experiment on. Start with R/B/Y unless you can afford £30s a week in new Pokemon games.
