The Mew Glitch

The Mew Glitch is famous for several glitched abilities. Without the use of hacking, but giving you the ability to find any Pokemon in the game, most obviously Mew, makes it very popular. Some of its more strange abilities are Glitch Pokemon such as LM4 appearing wild.

Glitch Version #0.1

When attempting the glitch, stock up on Poke'Balls. Lots of Poke'Balls. And get yourself a Abra with Teleport, but not quite yet. Make sure that if you want Mew at the earliest possible point in the game, you have not have defeated the Youngster on route 25. He's the kid with the Slowpokes at Lv. 17. Make sure you keep away from the Swimmer in Cerulean Gym and the Junior Trainer who says "I saw your feat from the grass." just as you enter battle at route 24 in the grassy area. Always save first, just incase you make a mistake. Crush the Rocket on Nugget Bridge as normal, still keeping away from the Junior. Now is a good time to go fetch that Abra with Teleport. If you are using Pokemon Yellow, then get far enough in the game to trade for a Abra. Heal at Ceruleans Pokemon Centre so you can use Abra to teleport there later, then dash over to the PC and grab Abra or Capture/Trade for it. Return to route 24. Stand so the Junior is just offscreen, then move down till he sees you. Press START as fast as possible. Then use Abras Teleport to route 25 or nearby. Your Start Menu will be broken now, and will not work due to the effects of the glitch. If you get this right, a ! will appear on screen. Now head up to route 25, by going North. Do not allow anyone else to fight you or talk to you, and keep away from wild Pokemon. Don't be seen, and keep against the wall or the game will freeze. Knock his team out then
